Is it possible to create ripples of excellence even if we think the world has given us a culture of sluggard and procrastination?
The dictionary defines excellence as the quality of being truly the best at something. We are called in different roles and functions. We can’t be doing the same things together but we can be the best of whatever we are to achieve our common goal. Always wear our best “suit”. Whatever is our calling, let us perform our duties and responsibilities excellently. We may falter but we can always stand to change our narrative for the better.
What must we do? How can we work with excellence?
1. Good Work Ethics means being honest and hardworking.
2. Perform our job extremely well.
Our God Himself is the God of excellence. Scripture even says in Philippians chapter 4 verse 8, “Finally, brother, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable if there is any EXCELLENCE, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” and in Colossians 3:23-24 ,” Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ Jesus. “
Do your job excellently and expect other people to do the same. Let us not expect our leaders to be excellent when we cannot work at our best. Creating ripples means modeling it and allowing other people to see how you have been accomplishing your assignments without complaining. How you have entrusted your strength and wisdom to the generous Giver of abundant graces.
Integrity and hard work are two essential ingredients of excellence. Whatever penance we may face as a consequent of our mediocrity or complacency, we have to accept it and try our best to change our weakness to be our strength. Trying our best to be a blessing in the workplace exudes positivity or optimism. The key is to be genuine and to stand for the grounds of truth.
Achieving our goals every day is performing our duty extremely well. We have to meet our targets so we have to spend our time wisely. Our objectives within the day must be doable. Our relationship with our colleagues must be good as well. No man is an island we have to work harmoniously with others to realize the vision and mission of the company.
Excellence does not require perfection because failing is a great force to success. Giving up is not part of excellence. Determination and persistence are driving force to excellence.
